Project Description:
Construction of the Big Ox Energy renewable natural gas project is set to enhance the lives and communities of North Eastern Nebraska. The new plant will turn organic industrial waste from surrounding businesses into natural gas for communities.
Big Ox’s technology includes an anaerobic digestion process that extracts organic waste nutrients to create methane. The clean-burning fuel is then distributed for consumer use. This low-cost method will be accessible financially for both the city and local industry.
Construction for the plant broke ground in April and is set to be completed in the Spring or early Summer of 2016, bringing 40 new jobs to the South Sioux City area.
